Clipping is the twelfth of a twelve-part series of prose sketches about Florida that appeared in the Charleston Courier from Feb. 27 to May 9 of 1867 (Kibler 45).

In this twelfth and final installment, Simms provides details about various animal and plant life native to Florida in verse form.
