MAJOR TEN-YEAR MILESTONE REACHED
The Simms Society and SIMMS REVIEW have reached the
ten-year anniversary of their founding in April-May 1993.
With this Winter 2002-2003 REVIEW (Vol. 10, no. 2), the
REVIEW has now been issued in twenty numbers.
This current anniversary issue is particularly noteworthy
because two of its articles are by international scholars—from
Japan and Russia. Editors of the REVIEW would like to think
that both the Society and REVIEW can take some credit for
this growing interest in Simms.

QUOT LE S QUOTA.

Stories should never be Written with reference to
a specific moral. Witten With due heed to general
truth, as they were designed to be, they carry With
them a thousand whoelsome morals, which are
superior to maxims.
Charleston MERCURY (6 Feb 1856)

In my opinion, this fictional credo puts Simms head
and shoulders above all the writers of his day, save
Poe.
