The Historic Society of Bam-
berg County and the Bamberg
County Heritage Corridor will be
having a reception to celebrate the
life and, literary works of William
Gilmore ' Simms at The Simms
Plantation "Woodlands" on High-
way 78 East of Bamberg City Lim-
its (Approximately 4 . miles) on
Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 5:30
p.m.
Join them as they commemo-
rate Simms' Birthday at The First
Annual Simms Celebration. There
will be a Wine and Cheese Recep-
tion (Birthday Cake and Ice
Cream, too!). One of Bamberg's
most Notable Citizens, Simms
wrote over 80 literary works and
remains one of South Carolina's
most .Distinguished Authors. For
